Australia
directed by Baz Luhrmann is a Australian image of “Gone with the wind” this
epic classic story is set in 1939 showing indigenous history, cultural
traditions, colonization and migration in Australia. Story revolves around a
northern cattle station in Australia in the setting of Japanese’s bombing of
Darwin showing love, humor and tragedy. The movie very carefully raises
complicated issues such as indigenous drinking, racism of recent arrival and
adoption. The picturization and dialogues are authentic and makes the movie
worth watching.

“Walkabout”
released in 1971 was hailed as a master piece it was about something deeper and
more elusive: The mystery of communication.
The story is
of a privileged British family consisting of a mother, a geologist father, an
adolescent daughter and son living in Sydney, Australia in high scraper
apartment. The two young siblings are stranded in the Australian outback and
are forced to cope on their own. They meet a young aborigine boy who is on his
ritual walkabout. He speaks no English but they manage to communicate and
survive together. Movie shows the raw side of nature animals and life.
